On Thursday, April 13th, 2023, at 2:58 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Homer Way and N Tully Rd, Turlock, observed a driver violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.
The officer made contact with and asked the vehicle’s two occupants to identify themselves. The driver complied, however, his passenger, gave a fake name.
The officer eventually found Aliya Chauvin, 21, of Waterford’s true name, and had his dispatcher run her. He discovered that she had a $25,500 misdemeanor bench warrant out of Waterford for possession of a stun gun by a convicted felon or person convicted of an assault crime.
Chauvin was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of falsely identifying to a peace officer, as well as her warrant.
The driver was released and his vehicle was impounded.
