A female subject was contacted as a theft suspect on Friday night when Turlock police found that she was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance and counterfeit bills.

The suspected attempted to run from police, but was apprehended and arrested.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, the Turlock Police Department received report of a theft in progress at Kohl’s.

When Turlock police arrived, the suspect, April Anderson, 33, consented to a search of her items and officers located a counterfeit $100 bill, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.

Anderson attempted to run from officers when they located the counterfeit bill, said Webb, however she did not get far.

She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a counterfeit bill, and resisting arrest.
