At about 8:00pm Saturday, Turlock Police Officer Rush on-viewed a traffic collision with injuries in the 400 block of Twentieth Century Boulevard.

Rush had been investigating a separate traffic collision when a vehicle struck a pedestrian across the street, later identified as Regina Owsley, 63, of Turlock.

Turlock Fire and American Medical Response were requested and Rush rendered aid to Owsley until their arrival.

Owsley was transported by American Medical Response to Doctors Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries the next morning.

The driver of the vehicle that had struck Owsley, later identified as Laura Dale, 47, of Modesto, wasn’t injured and has so far been cooperative with the investigation.

Turlock City News is aware that Dale has been stopped by police several times throughout the year. Dale’s driver’s license is suspended and she shouldn’t be driving except in the course of her employment. It’s unknown if this was one of those scenarios.

Dale’s vehicle was towed to the Turlock Public Safety Facility to be processed for evidence.

The investigation remains ongoing.
