A woman was arrested on Saturday after she stole a vehicle from a Turlock car lot.
The woman allegedly stole a purple GMC SUV from Platinum Auto Sales, located at 210 S. Golden State Blvd., after she broke through the front door and took the keys to the vehicle.
She was involved in a short, low-speed pursuit with police around 1:30 p.m., before she wrecked the stolen vehicle and was taken into custody.
Victoria Craig, 19, was arrested and booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, possession of stolen property, and pursuit, said Turlock police spokesperson Lt. Ron Reid.
Craig had previously visited Platinum Auto Sales to look at the SUV, telling employees how much she loved the vehicle.
Martha Romo, who was working while Craig was at the lot, said Craig left the lot and returned multiple times.
Craig was acting very strange during the time that she was at Platinum, said Romo.
After Craig returned to the lot for the third time, she broke through the glass door of the office with what employees said appeared to be a crowbar.
She entered the office and grabbed the keys to the SUV, then fled from the lot.
Authorities attempted to make a traffic stop, but Craig failed to stop, said Reid.
The pursuit continued until the suspect attempted to make a right turn onto English Avenue, where she wrecked the vehicle.
Craig was apprehended at that time.
