On Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at 2:55 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person at a residence in the 1300 block of Violet Way, Turlock, after the caller had thought that a woman who had asked her to charge her phone was trying to scam her somehow.
The caller stated that she did not want to give the woman her phone back until officers arrived and while waiting for them, the woman decided to put a hole in the caller’s door. The woman then returned to her own home on the same block and decided to light a small fire in her own front yard and throw a pipe at her neighbor’s window.
By the time officers arrived on scene, the woman had retreated back into her home and was refusing to come out, however, was able to be identified as Cleotilde Diaz, 49, of Turlock.
Officers eventually gave up on trying to get Diaz out of her home and left, however, were called back out a short time later after Diaz had been seen outside again.
Officers arrived and found Diaz, arresting her.
Diaz was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of vandalism and attempting to deter or resist an executive officer in the performance of their duty by means of threat or violence.
