At about 5:29pm Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense in progress at a residence in the 1400 block of E. Glenwood Avenue.

The caller reported that a woman, later identified as Alicia McGauley, 45, of San Diego, had entered the residence through an unlocked door and brandished box cutters.

McGauley then left the residence and began walking away westbound on E. Glenwood Avenue, still waving the box cutters around.

Officer Mulhim arrived on scene a short time later and located McGauley, detaining her at gunpoint.

McGauley was identified and determined to have a felony bench warrant out of San Diego for identity theft, but they didn’t want to come pick her up. She was also on probation out of San Diego County for the same charge and Stanislaus County for assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.

After speaking with the brandishing victim, officers learned she didn’t want anything done other than have McGauley trespass admonished from the residence.

“The involved person displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance”, said Sergeant Argueta, so she was arrested for that instead.

McGauley was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of disorderly conduct.
