At about 3:20pm Monday afternoon, Turlock Police responded to an aggravated assault at a residence in the 200 block of W. Main Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they contacted the involved parties, including Lena Coats, 35, of Turlock.
Through speaking with witnesses and evidence located at the scene, officers learned that Coats had been driving down in alley when she saw her ex-boyfriend.
Coats allegedly sped up her vehicle and purposefully swerved in an attempt to strike her ex-boyfriend. He noticed and moved out of the way, avoiding being struck but causing Coats to strike a fence instead.
Coats was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and vandalism.
