Woman Arrested After Admitting to Having Warrant

At about 4:32am Wednesday, Turlock Police Officer Aziz made a traffic stop at W. Minnesota Avenue and Jeannie Court.

Aziz made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver as Cynthia Patrias, 61, of Turlock.

When Aziz had his dispatcher run Patrias, she returned clear.

Patrias then told Aziz that she should have a warrant out of Placer County.

Aziz’s dispatcher called Placer County and they stated Patrias did indeed have a no-bail felony bench warrant out of their agency for grand theft and vandalism that had been issued back in 2016.

For whatever reason, the warrant wasn’t in the Wanted Persons System.

According to a Turlock Journal article from 2013, Patrias and an accomplice had been arrested after drilling locks out of coin boxes at laundromats and carwashes in Roseville on two separate dates.

“Investigators are looking at other similar thefts in the counties of Sacramento, Yuba, El Dorado and San Joaquin between February and June for any connections to either suspect,” said The Journal’s article. “The loss and damage done to the machines was estimated at $21,000.”

According to court records, Patrias was convicted of her crimes, sentenced to serve 120 days in jail, and put on probation for five years.

In 2015, Patrias violated her probation and failed to appear at a probation hearing in 2016. That’s when the warrant was issued.

Patrias was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on her warrant.

Had Patrias not stated she had a warrant, no one would have ever known.
