At about 10:40pm Wednesday, Turlock Police Officer Aziz arrived at a residence in the 2600 block of Jeannie Court to conduct follow-up in a pursuit investigation.
Aziz had developed info that Tunet Taryorn, 39, of Turlock, had been staying at the residence’s garage.
Tunet had a $75,000 felony warrant of arrest accusing him of fleeing from a peace officer by vehicle with disregard for public safety.
At about 10:09pm on Friday, July 5, Officer Gursky attempted to make a traffic stop at N. Berkeley Avenue and E. Monte Vista Avenue.
Prior to attempting to make the stop, Gursky had gotten a good look at the driver, who he was later able to identify as Taryorn.
Taryorn failed to stop for Gursky and led him to the area of E. Zeering Road and Story Road in Denair where he managed to evade capture.
In addition, Taryorn had a $5,000 local misdemeanor bench warrant for falsely identifying to a peace officer, a $20,000 misdemeanor bench warrant out of Tuolumne County for failure to appear, and a $50,000 misdemeanor bench warrant out of Tuolumne County for falsely identifying to a peace officer, possession of methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aziz and assisting officers arrived at the residence and attempted to make contact with Taryorn at the garage door.
The garage door was slightly cracked and the light was on inside. Officer Jimenez assumed a prone position and spotted who she believed was Taryorn entering the residence from the garage.
Officers requested the sheriff’s office respond with a drone and gave public address announcements ordering everyone out of the house with their hands up.
After several deputies arrived on scene to assist, officers entered the residence with the homeowner’s permission and began to clear it.
Taryorn was located hiding in a closet and arrested.
Taryorn was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting a peace officer and his warrants.
