At about 10:55pm Friday, Turlock Police responded to a battery in progress at Travelodge in the 200 block of W. Glenwood Avenue.
The caller was the manager and advised that a man had just hit him before running after other people who were walking around the parking lot. He also advised the man wasn’t a guest at the motel.
As officers arrived on scene, the caller pointed them toward the back of the motel. Officers drove in that direction and observed a vehicle driving away with an open door and severely deformed door. The vehicle then stopped and its driver exited, where he was detained by officers.
The driver was identified as Jason Davis, 48, of Atwater.
When officers had their dispatcher run Davis, they discovered he had a $25,500 local misdemeanor bench warrant for battery.
Davis was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of battery and his warrant.
