Wanted Felon Arrested After Leading Police on Short Foot Pursuit

At about 7:05pm Sunday, Turlock Police Officer Mulhim got out with a suspicious person at Farr Street and Columbia Street.

Mulhim had recognized the man as Daniel Gutierrez, 28, of Turlock, and knew he had warrants.

Gutierrez took off from Mulhim on foot and refused to obey his lawful orders to stop. Gutierrez ran around the block before ending up in the 300 block of Farr Street where he was apprehended by Officer Rocha.

Gutierrez had two felony warrants and five misdemeanor warrants totaling $202,500 for charges of battery inflicting serious bodily injury, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, vandalism, battery, trespassing, violating a domestic violence order, and contempt of court.

Gutierrez was arrested and transported to the Turlock Police Department where American Medical Response was requested for a check out.

Afterward, Gutierrez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting a peace officer and his warrants.
