Vehicle collision leaves two injured and damage to transit center shelter structure Monday night

On Monday, December 26th, 2022, at 10:28 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of W Hawkeye Ave and Dels Ln, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. The first one was a white Chevrolet SUV and the second one was a silver Nissan sedan.

Both vehicles only had single occupants, their drivers. The driver of the white Chevrolet SUV suffered moderate injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital after having to be extricated from his vehicle by firefighters, while the driver of the silver Nissan sedan suffered minor injuries and was also ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

Both vehicles sustained major damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.

It’s currently unknown how the collision occurred, however, after the two vehicles collided in the intersection, the white Chevrolet SUV left the roadway in a southwesterly direction and came to final rest in the Roger K. Fall Transit Center after colliding with a bench, bus shelter structure, and trash can.
