Local veterans will have access to medical examinations, consultations, and referrals this week, as the Veterans Administration will hold a mobile medical outreach clinic in Turlock.
The clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 21 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5059 Hall, 1405 E. Linwood Ave., Turlock.
Officers will be available to review benefits and assist with updating and filing claims. The program's eligibility requirements have changed, and those previously denied coverage may be eligible – especially for Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan veterans.
Those who are not part of the VA system are asked to bring an extra copy of their discharge papers, form DD214, for enrollment. Those without a DD214 may request one, but enrollment will be delayed.
The visit is made possible by the Veterans Administration Palo Alto Health Care system's Rural Health Mobile Medical Team.
