The Turlock Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission will once again discuss dog parks on a short agenda this Wednesday.
The commission is expected to receive an update on the Dog Park at Swanson-Centennial Park, approved in December.
Bids came back higher than expected, so the Swanson family will donate a further $19,000 to construct the dog park. The family previously donated $35,000.
The $66,526 park will be built by United Paving Maintenance, of Hughson. The remaining $12,526 cost will be paid by the City of Turlock.
The light agenda contains only four items:
- Turlock Police Lt. Miguel Pacheco will inform the commission on the role of police in and around parks.
- A staff update will be provided on the Dog Park at Swanson-Centennial Park.
- An update on the feasibility of broadcasting commission meetings, either online or via public access television.
- The commission will discuss its webpage.
The Turlock Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Yosemite Room of Turlock City Hall, 156 S. Broadway.
