United States Cold Storage of Turlock is planning an expansion of additional square footage to its cold storage distribution facility, meaning more traffic to the site daily.
The existing 300,319 square-foot cold storage distribution facility, located at 537 Fransil Lane, in Turlock is up for a design review for the addition of 118,957 square feet of storage space.
The company provided a public notice of its expansion in accordance with Turlock Municipal Code Section 9-5-311(a). Through the notice, the City of Turlock is requesting comments from adjacent property owners whose property may be affected by the project. The deadline for comment is June 30.
This is because the expansion will mean more than an increase in space: the addition is expected to generate approximately 26 additional daily auto trips and 55 additional daily truck trips to the site. Also, the existing storm basin along Fransil Lane will be expanded approximately 96 feet to the north at the same slope as the existing basin.
