At about 11:21pm Saturday night, Turlock Police responded to a vehicle collision at Dancer Way and N. Berkeley Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a silver 2008 Nissan Altima that had gone up onto the center divide and struck a tree.
Two subjects were located just east of the intersection who were contacted and determined to be involved. They were both obviously intoxicated and one of them was the driver, Rolando Perez, 19, of Hughson.
Neither Perez nor his passenger suffered any injuries, while their vehicle sustained minor damage.
Perez was determined to have a suspended license and be on probation through 2026 due to a DUI conviction from back in May. He blew into a preliminary alcohol screening device as required by law due to his age and DUI probation. He was subsequently arrested.
Perez was transported to Doctors Medical Center where he was medically cleared. He was then booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.
Perez was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was impounded.
Perez’s passenger was picked up by his sober mother, who repeatedly slapped him and gave him a piece of her mind before having him get in her car.
