At about 11:45pm Friday, Turlock Police responded to a traffic hazard at Staley’s Club in the 400 block of E. Main Street.
The caller was security who reported that they had denied two women entry in the business due to them being drunk. The two had then gotten into a vehicle, hit the curb causing damage to both right tires, and were blocking the roadway moving the vehicle back and forth with the passenger door open.
Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle unlawfully parked over some hash marks, sticking out into the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Maggie Mulgado, 37, of Turlock, had to be detained in handcuffs because she was passively resistive. Back in July, Mulgado was also listed in a resisting arrest call.
Mulgado’s passenger was identified as Bianca Ramos, 29, of Turlock, and she was discovered to have three suspensions on her driver’s license for driving under the influence.
Mulgado displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence, so Officer Ayala put her through standardized field sobriety tests.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, Ayala determined Mulgado was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her.
Through the investigation, officers learned Ramos had also been seen driving the vehicle earlier.
Ramos also displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence, so Ayala put her through standardized field sobriety tests as well.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, Ayala determined Ramos was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her.
Both Mulgado and Ramos chose to provide two breath samples at the scene for their chemical test required by California’s implied consent law. They were also both issued driver’s license suspension orders.
Mulgado and Ramos were released on citations for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mulgado’s vehicle was towed.
