At about 11:10pm Wednesday, Turlock Police Officer Marquez made a traffic stop at Lander Avenue and Fourth Street.
Marquez made contact with and identified the vehicle’s three occupants, including passengers John Cervantes, 49, of Turlock, and Celia Vigil, 38, of Turlock.
When Marquez had his dispatcher run the three, he discovered Cervantes had a $5,000 local misdemeanor bench warrant for violating a domestic violence order and was on searchable probation for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Vigil also had three bench warrants, the first $3,000 local misdemeanor for trespassing and theft, the second $4,500 misdemeanor out of Stanislaus County for theft, and the third $411 infraction out of Stanislaus County for an education code violation.
Due to Cervantes being on searchable probation, a probation search around the part of the vehicle he was seated in was conducted, during which no contraband was located.
Cervantes and Vigil were arrested on their warrants. Cervantes was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, while Vigil was released on a citation.
