At about 8:11pm Wednesday, Turlock Police responded to a trespass in progress at Kohl’s in the 2700 block of Countryside Drive.
The caller was loss prevention who had recognized Lyle Harlan, 31, of Turlock, as a previous shoplifter and wanted him trespass admonished.
Officers arrived on scene and learned that Harlan was on post-release community supervision for grand theft and had a no-bail felony warrant out of Modesto for the same.
Officer Arroyo contacted Harlan and arrested him on the warrant.
During a search of Harlan incident to arrest, Arroyo located narcotics.
While assisting, Officer Kauffman was informed by loss prevention of a second man, unrelated to Harlan, who was inside the store actively shoplifting.
Kauffman stood outside the exit and observed a theft occur in his presence when Michael Martin, 39, of San Leandro, walked out wearing a hat and shoes he hadn’t paid for.
Martin was also arrested.
Harlan was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and his warrant, while Martin was released on a citation for petty theft.
