The Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold a public meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Turlock High School Performing Arts Building at 1600 East Canal Drive.

Prior to the public session, trustees will meet with TUSD staff regarding labor negotiations with the Turlock Teachers Association and other school employee unions. Also, they will meet to discuss an employee discipline, dismissal or release.

To open the public session Turlock Junior High School student Ethan Millerick will provide an inspirational message. Crowell Elementary School student Bryan Hernandez and Julien Elementary student Kcody Rogers will lead attendees in the flag salute.

The board will then honor the three students for their selection in the Every Student Succeeding Program.

The board will also honor Turlock High School employee Luis Arroyo for his faithful and dedicated service to Turlock schools. Arroyo will be retiring after 18 years and 7 months with the district.

At 7:26 p.m. there will be a period for public comment.

The board will likely approve an out-of-state trip for a Turlock High School wrestler to attend the National Wrestling Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia and an out-of-country trip for eight THS students to participate in the German American Partnership Program. THS has participated in the exchange program since 1998 and it provides students the chance to live in Germany, learn about the German culture and enhance their knowledge of the German language.

At about 7:30 p.m. TUSD will announce its initial proposal to the Turlock Teacher’s Association. Following that, the board will vote on three resolutions for The Day of the Teacher, Day of the Classified Employee and the National School Nurses Day.
