The Turlock Unified School District will hold a series of parent information nights on Common Core State Standards, what they are and how Common Core will impact students in the classroom.
In addition, information will be presented on new ways parents can engage in decision-making through the new Local Control and Accountability Plan. The plan governs how money from the state is used at local schools to meet annual student goals, funding specific activities to address local and state educational priorities.
Information nights are scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. at the following campuses on the specified dates: Jan. 29 in the Turlock Junior High cafeteria, Jan. 30 at the Turlock High School career center, Feb. 6 at the Wakefield Elementary School cafeteria, and Feb. 10 at the Medeiros Elementary School cafeteria.
