The City of Turlock Municipal Services Department is reminding residents of the city’s longstanding watering schedule, given the ongoing drought.
Houses with addresses ending in even numbers are only allowed to water their yards on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
House with addresses ending in odd numbers can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Watering on Mondays is prohibited.
Watering is allowed from 12 midnight to 12 noon and 6 p.m to 12 midnight on assigned days; watering is never allowed from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency due to drought on Jan. 17, requesting that all Californians use 20 percent less water.
According to weather tracking website Wunderground.com, Turlock has only received about 1.20 inches of rain so far this year, down from the average 4.83 inches by this point.
