A Turlock woman witnessed a man attempting to break into her house on Friday morning.

The woman, Monica Morales, posted on TurlockCityNews.com’s Facebook Page to get the word out regarding her experience.

Morales said that she walked her husband to the door around 4:20 a.m. on Friday while he was on his way to work.

She returned to bed for about about 20 minutes before she was awakened by someone trying to break into her house on South Minaret Street, near F Street, through a window.

Morales made eye contact with the burglar and called 911, she said.

“As I'm talking to the dispatcher he never stop looking at me,” Morales added.

She then fled into one of her kids’ rooms and locked the door, Morales said.

Turlock police responded to the scene shortly after Morales called 911, but they did not find the burglar and currently have no suspects.

Nothing was stolen from the Morales home, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Russell Holeman. The incident is being treated as an an attempted burglary.

The Turlock Police Department always asks that citizens witnessing a burglary do not attempt to stop the intruder, but instead call 911. If you believe you believe there is someone in your home, go to a neighbor’s and call the police.
