Turlock police engaged in a foot pursuit with a fleeing suspect on Thursday, before apprehending him on Geer Road.
An officer spotted the suspect, Robert Hernandez, 29, on Golden State Boulevard and recognized him as being wanted, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
The officer knew the suspect had the tendency to flee from police, so the officer asked other officers to set a perimeter around the area, said Lewis.
When Hernandez spotted the officer, he fled on foot toward Geer Road.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect near the corner of Geer Road and Wayside Drive with no further incident, said Lewis.
Witnesses at a gas station in the area told TurlockCityNews.com that the suspect was running behind some apartments in the area and, when he tried to cross Geer Road, a motor officer laid down his motorcycle and grabbed the suspect.
Hernandez was arrested and booked for a probation violation and resisting arrest.
