The suspect wanted for the attempted murder of a Turlock man was arrested in Oregon on Sunday.

Turlock police issued an arrest warrant for Amado Mickey Gonzalez, 38, of Turlock, for attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Amado was wanted in connection with the May 12 shooting in the 600 block 20th Century Boulevard that left a 44-year-old man critically injured.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his lower back and leg, which were considered to be life-threatening at the time.

Investigators received information that Gonzalez may be in the Woodburn, Ore. area and contacted law enforcement in the region.

Woodburn police officers located Gonzalez at the 7 Mares Restaurant in Woodburn on Sunday and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains as of Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Hubbard, Mount Angel and Gervais police departments assisted with the apprehension of Gonzalez.

Gonzalez became the prime suspect in the shooting when police located a vehicle in the 700 block of Lambert Way that was sought in connection with the shooting. The occupants were detained and the vehicle was towed to the Turlock Police Department.

Turlock police held Gonzalez, the driver of that vehicle, for question, but later released him. Later, detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and inside they found a firearm believed to have been used in the May 12 shooting.
