The Turlock man accused of putting his 2-year-old nephew in the hospital has been charged in Stanislaus County Court.
Brandon Rodriguez, 33, was arraigned in court on Friday. He has been charged with a felony count of willful cruelty to a child with possible injury or death.
Rodriguez’s arraignment comes about one month after he was arrested for the incident that occurred between 11 p.m. March 22 and the morning of March 23. Little is known of what occurred the night of the incident.
The 2-year-old boy was left with Rodriguez overnight, when the child allegedly suffered life threatening injuries.
The child’s mother took her son to Emanuel Medical Center when she returned. The hospital staff notified the Turlock Police Department and Child Protective Services.
The child was then transported to Children’s Hospital of Central California in Madera due to his critical condition. The nature of the child’s injuries are unknown at this time, and it remains unknown how the child is currently doing.
Rodriguez is currently out on bail.
