After being arrested by STING (Special Team Investigating Narcotics and Gangs) deputies this morning, a Turlock man was booked into Stanislaus County Jail for charges including attempted murder.
Kevin Barnes, 20, was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail this morning for attempted murder, possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, and committing a felony while out on bail.
Last night at 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call of a person shot at Yosemite Boulevard and Leek Road in Empire.
Deputies found 2 men with gunshot wounds. According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, these victims were 21 and 32 years old, and both were transported to the emergency room with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Stanislaus Sheriff’s, the identities of the victims are not being released.
Early investigation by the Stanislaus Sheriff’s indicates that the victims were shot while driving along Yosemite Boulevard. STING members responded to the crime scene to provide assistance with the investigation.
“Based off of their investigation they were able to identify 20 year-old Kevin Barnes of Turlock as a suspect in the shooting,” stated Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
On Wednesday morning, at 8:30 a.m., Kevin Barnes was arrested by STING deputies at the Stanislaus County Courthouse.
