The Turlock Lions club made a king-sized donation to Turlock Unified School District elementary schools and Chatom Elementary School yesterday.
In total, Lions members delivered 7,723 individual notebooks to each K-6 school – enough for every student in each school. Also, each school received on average 30 cases of printer paper, the equivalent of 300 reams.
Lion Rafael Vega says the donations are part of an annual fundraiser by the Turlock Lions Club, and that this year the club learned that schools were short on paper. Rafael’s wife, who is a local teacher, explained that printer paper is always in short supply at schools.
