The City of Turlock will hold a community meeting to solicit public input on zoning options to address a new State Law, Senate Bill 2.
This State Law requires cities designate an area or zoning district(s) that would allow a year-round emergency homeless shelter to be constructed and/or operated through a “nondiscretionary” permitting process.
This meeting will give you the opportunity to provide City staff with ideas and suggestions on where such a shelter should be located.
You can also provide ideas on possible design standards for a homeless shelter.
Everyone is encouraged to attend! The community meeting will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 6pm at Westside Ministries (952 Columbia Street).
