It’s the dawn of spring and that means a few things – like Relay for Life is right around the corner and the old ball game is back in play.
Knock the caked-on mud off those cleats that have been sitting in the garage all winter, because the Turlock High School Relay for Life Club and the Teen Advisory Council are holding a “Swinging for a Cure” co-ed softball game and home run derby March 29 at Turlock High School.
All ages are welcome for the noon softball game and 11 a.m. home run derby. Participation in the softball game costs $5 per person and the home run derby fee is $1 per out, with a free lunch for those who buy 20 outs.
Life doesn’t get much better than that. BBQ, fresh cut grass on the diamond, a game of softball and some mammoth home runs.
Families are encouraged to attend and play. BBQ lunches and concessions will be available. All proceeds will go to THS Relay for Life Club’s $15,000 goal.
Participants will be divided into two teams, Team Kicking Cancer coached by Ryan Tribble and Team To the Curb coached by Rick Fetter.
