Flags at public buildings in Turlock will be flying at half-staff tomorrow, in remembrance of 9/11.
Due to the move for Turlock Police and Fire departments to the new Public Safety Facility at 244 N. Broadway, neither department scheduled events or ceremonies for 9/11.
Turlock resident and U.S. Army veteran Cory Smith will hold the first annual 9/11 Red, White and Blue Run at 6:45 p.m., beginning in Donnelly Park. Turlock High School’s NJROTC will be joining Smith, along with more than 230 other runners who have signed up for the 4-mile run on the event’s Facebook page. Smith is asking for a $2 donation per runner and funds raised will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. For those unable to run, riding a bike or walking is accepted.
