Turlock and the rest of the nation will always remember when America came together on September 11, 2001, as a terrorist attack struck the nation.
Within hours, more than 2,600 people died at the World Trade Center, 125 died at the Pentagon, and 256 died on the four planes. The death toll surpassed that at Pearl Harbor in December 1941, according to the 911 Commission Report.
This was one of, if not the most, tragic event in recent American history.
In order to honor the fallen firefighters and those who lost lives on that fateful day, the Turlock Fire Department is hosting a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Sept. 11, 2016.
America, including Turlock, will never forget.
This ceremony will take place at Turlock Fire Station 31, 540 East Marshall Avenue at 8:00 a.m.
