The Turlock Fire Department is giving free CPR lessons today until 5 p.m. at Fire Station #3 in Turlock.
The fire department often hosts CPR classes every few months, however those classes are $35 and only offer a limited number of spots.
For today only, Turlockers can learn CPR in only 15 minutes with the help of the Turlock Fire Department.
The free lessons are part of the AMR World CPR Challenge, where AMR hopes many around the world can learn to save lives.
The lessons are for compression-only CPR, which only has two steps — calling 911 and pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.
According to AMR, studies show that survival for victims of sudden cardiac arrest doubles or triples if CPR is administered until help arrives.
Fire Station #3 is located at 501 E. Monte Vista Ave. and lesson will be given until 5 p.m.
