Turlock-based LUSOMedia announced that it will begin broadcasting San Jose Earthquakes home games in Portuguese.
Beginning with the Earthquakes’ May 7 match against the Colorado Rapids, all home games will be broadcast in Portuguese by Tito Rebelo and Nelson Leite.
"This is a huge step for both LUSOMedia and the Earthquakes …" said Nelson Leite, Co-Owner of LUSOMedia. "It will be the first time that MLS games will be broadcasted in Portuguese by any team since the launch of MLS in 1996.”
Rebelo and Leite will be providing play-by-play in Portuguese, a first for any MLS team.
“There have been live news flashes in Portuguese by other teams, but never a play-by-play,” said Leite. “We are very honored at the opportunity of working with the Quakes on this magnificent project. “
Games will be broadcast worldwide online at rtpusa.com.
