Education and Qualifications:
As a fellow tax payer I decry the erosion of the city’s finances, the transportation system and the homeless problem. It is time for a change, and I hope to help bring it about.
As a candidate, I believe that my education and experience make me uniquely qualified to help solve the city’s problems.
My education includes a BA degree from Central College in Business Administration and a Teaching Credential. I have a BD Bachelor of Divinity degree from McCormick Seminary, a Presbyterian Seminary.
My experience includes two years of teaching at the Jr. High level and three years of substitute teaching. I farmed for ten years and sold produce for ten years. At present I am working for the Turlock sales yard and gardening ½ acre. If elected to the city council I would work for the following:
• The bus system be made to more adequately serve the riding public.
• The B Street building be converted into a homeless shelter and that other shelters be planned.
• Efforts be made to increase jobs by encouraging new industries with discounts on water and sewer
services

• All street funds be used exclusively for streets, and not diverted elsewhere.

Education and Qualifications:
Since moving to Turlock in 2002, I have grown to appreciate our City with its’ rich diversity and blending cultures. My family has been welcomed and is very much at home in our adoptive community.
My candidacy for the Turlock City Council is based on my desire to serve our community with seasoned, clear and rational thinking. As a former commissioned officer with the United States Marine Corps, I was trained to think in that way. I was trained to be decisive and resolute in my decision-making process.
The issues facing us include, but are not limited to:
• Developing new sources of business/income for our expanding needs
• Responsible oversight of limited finances
• Continued strengthening and support of our emergency response services
• Improvement of our infrastructure – roads and facilities
• The inclusion of all residents in a process that hears them and responds to their needs
There are challenges before us which require that the newly elected City Council ask tough questions, deal with possibly tougher answers and implement strategies which may be uncomfortable to address those needs. I am prepared and willing to serve in this effort.
