Scott Johnson, 34, was arrested for auto theft on Friday at the intersection of Broadway and C Street in Turlock, according to the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force. Johnson was also arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, driving on a suspended license, possession of burglary tools and violation of parole.

StanCATT also reported that Elizabeth Vierra, 28, was arrested in the incident for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

StanCATT is a proactive auto theft investigative unit consisting of undercover detectives from the California Highway Patrol, Modesto, Ceres and the Stanislaus Sheriff's Office. The task force was formed in 1996 to combat the rise of auto theft in Stanislaus County.
