Thanksgiving is fast-approaching, and for those who still have errands to run, it might seem impossible. Thankfully, there are still a few businesses open to enable last-minute shopping.
It seems like there’s at least one missing ingredient each year, right as you get to cooking. Fortunately, several of Turlock’s grocery stores will be open, including Safeway (Monte Vista Avenue) which will open at its regular time and close at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. Raley’s (Geer Road) will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Save Mart (Geer Road) will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market (Geer Road) is open 24 hours, as per usual, while the Wal-Mart on Fulkerth Road will be open from 6 a.m. and through the night in order to accommodate Black Friday shoppers.
For Turlockers that don’t quite have the time to cook, there will be several options available for hassle-free Thanksgiving dining. Sizzler (Hotel Drive) will be open and serving up platefuls of turkey, yams and stuffing. Both the McDonalds on Countryside Drive and the one located on Geer Road will be open for business.
In addition to this, IHOP (Countryside Drive) will be open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and America’s Diner, Denny’s (Lander), never closes.
After Thanksgiving, the drive home might be made perilous with turkey-haze— however, there will be several Starbucks locations open to give both drivers and shoppers a pick-me-up. The Monte Vista and Countryside, located in the Target shopping center, will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, with regular hours on Black Friday. Serious Black Friday shoppers can drive over to the Kiosk on Monte Vista and 99 which will be open until midnight, and reopening at 4:30 a.m.
The Starbucks on Geer Road will open at 5 a.m. on Thanksgiving and close at 3 p.m., while the Lander and Canal stores will open thirty minutes later and close at the same time.
