California Highway Patrol has a portion of East Avenue closed due to a head on collision near the Johnson Road intersection.
The collision was reported to CHP at approximately 4:37 p.m. on East Avenue, just east of the Johnson Road intersection.
CHP is reporting three vehicles involved, including a black Honda SUV and Jeep Liberty.
Injuries are unknown at this time.

Update 6:04 p.m.: CHP is reporting major injuries from the collision. Two vehicle occupants are being transported to area hospitals.
