A four vehicle collision has caused congestion along the detour through the Monte Vista Crossings shopping center.
Southbound Countryside Drive had four vehicles involved in a collision in the left lane, temporarily blocking traffic for passersby in the southbound lane.
With westbound and eastbound traffic along Monte Vista Avenue being detoured due to the closing of the railroad crossing, traffic is getting congested during the holiday season.
With this third closure in four months, the detours have at times been filling with vehicles attempting to avoid traffic. However, there has been congestion during the reconstruction, specifically along Tuolumne Road – the suggested detour – and Fulkerth Road. Both roads lead to Countryside Drive, an entry point into the Monte Vista Crossings shopping center.
As long as weather permitted, Union Pacific Railroad has been expecting to complete the reconstruction project by this afternoon.
