Toni Boster was recognized Tuesday evening at the Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting as the 2014 TUSD Volunteer of the Year.
Boster serves on the Medeiros Elementary School Site Council, the Turlock Junior High School Site Council, the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council and the TUSD Education Foundation. To top it all off, she is chairperson of the TUSD Budget Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees for budget allocations.
As if all that wasn’t enough, Boster has three children in TUSD schools.
State Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres) and Assemblymember Kristen Olsen (R-Modesto) recognized Boster with certificates of appreciation at the board meeting and the TUSD Board of Trustees presented her with a gift.
“School volunteers are the unsung heroes in our education system,” said Cannella. “They work countless hours behinds the scenes without pay to ensure teachers, administrators, staff, and of course, students, receive additional support and resources schools often can’t provide, simply because of time, financial constraints and lack of human resources. Ms. Boster continually give above and beyond, and I commend her for her commitment to Turlock’s schools.”
