On Friday, May 19th, 2023, at 5:58 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported dangerous driver near the intersection of Kenwood Ave and E Canal Dr, Turlock.
While officers were responding, one of them spotted a matching vehicle at a high rate of speed near the intersection of W Canal Dr and N Broadway, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it.
While attempting to make the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a fence near the intersection of N Broadway and N Front St. Three juveniles then leg bailed from the vehicle, however, were able to be tracked by a police drone and apprehended within a matter of minutes.
The juveniles were all Hispanic males, one was 16 years old and the other two were 15 years old.
Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall was contacted, however, they refused to take the juveniles.
The juveniles were all arrested and released on a citation on the charge of obstructing or resisting a public officer. The driver was also charged with fleeing the scene of an accident resulting in property damage and driving without a valid driver’s license.
