At about 5:28pm Tuesday, Turlock Police responded to two suspicious persons at Five Below in the 2900 block of Countryside Drive.
The caller was an employee, reporting that two Hispanic women were inside the business filling up blue T.J. Maxx bags, likely getting ready to steal.
When Officer Ayala arrived on scene, he made contact with the employees who told him that the women had left the store and were getting into a vehicle in the parking lot, which they provided the license plate for.
Officer Jimenez located the vehicle in the parking lot occupied by the two women and a man, detaining all three of them. They were identified as Marisol Hernandez, 37, of Gustine, Juan Lopez, 44, of Newman, and Angela Gonzales, 34, of Modesto.
When Jimenez had his dispatcher run the three, he discovered they all had misdemeanor warrants totaling $45,500 for drug charges. The warrants were out of Ripon, Gustine, and Patterson. Additionally, he discovered that Hernandez was on probation out of both San Diego and Merced counties for grand theft, while Lopez was on probation out of Stanislaus County for two counts of possession of methamphetamines.
Through the investigation, it was determined that Hernandez and Gonzales had stolen from the business, although the employee didn’t want to make a citizen’s arrest.
The stolen property was recovered.
Hernandez, Lopez, and Gonzales were all arrested and released on citations for their warrants.
They were also all trespass admonished from the business.
