The Turlock Police Department was informed of a shooting at a house that occurred on Friday, around 2 a.m.
Police responded to a residence located in the 200 block of S. Beech Street. On the way to the location, officers received information that the suspects had taken off in a white van.
According to Turlock Police, the van was located by officers in the area close to Canal Drive and First Street. Turlock Police tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver of the van did not cooperate by stopping, thus starting a short-lived vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit reached speeds of over 40mph as officers followed the Van through residential neighborhoods. The chase came to an end at the 1000 block of Geer Road.
Once the vehicle was stopped, four subjects fled from the white van. Police found two of the subjects nearby, both 17 year old males, and took them into custody.
Police report that evidence recovered at the scene of the shooting and in the van gave officers enough insight to determine that both juveniles were involved in the shooting. The two young men were booked in Juvenile Hall for robbery and discharging a firearm.
The victim was not injured during the robbery and gunfire.
There is no information on the other two suspects that fled the van.
This is an active investigation and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Brandon Bertram at 209-668-5550 extension 6623.
