On Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at 2:10 am, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, Keyes Fire Protection District, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported injured person near the intersection of Anna Ave and Clark St, Keyes, who was down and not breathing.
Deputies were the first to arrive on scene and located a man later identified as Kevin Chavolla, 18, of Keyes, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Deputies immediately began CPR on Chavolla until relieved by firefighters and paramedics.
Chavolla was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
There’s currently no known motive for the shooting or suspect information.
