At about 6:54pm Thursday, Turlock Police responded to an assist other agency at Paulson Road and Nowlin Court.

The sheriff’s helicopter had responded to a small sideshow in the area and observed three Dodge Chargers present: white, green, and black. The white one was actively doing donuts.

The group then left the area and began heading toward the city with the helicopter following, which guided Turlock Police to all three.

A nearby officer was able to catch up to the group and stop the white Charger in the 1700 block of E. Glenwood Avenue.

After stopping the white Charger, the green one proceeded westbound and blew through the stop sign at Baywood Lane, while the black one turned northbound on English Avenue.

The sheriff’s helicopter then observed the green Charger pull into Fast Track Car Wash in the 200 block of E. Glenwood Avenue, while the black Charger pulled into Liquor Club in the 1500 block of Lander Avenue.

The black one had previously been listed in several traffic stop and dangerous driver calls.

A short time later, Turlock Police officers arrived at both locations and contacted the remaining two vehicles, but not before the helicopter observed the green Charger’s driver tampering with his license plate.

The drivers of the green and black Chargers were cited for various infractions, while the driver of the black Charger, Manjot Singh, 18, of Turlock, was arrested.

Singh was released on a citation for reckless driving, while his heavily modified vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
