On Thursday, January 5th, 2023, at 3:02 pm, the Turlock Fire Department, Turlock Police Department, and Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigations Unit were dispatched to a reported arson near the intersection of Geer Rd and W Hawkeye Ave, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a couch on fire in the dirt field on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out before it spread to anything else.
Officers spoke with witnesses and were shown a video of two teenagers involved in the incident.
Officers were ultimately led to a residence in the 1600 block of Valparaiso Dr where the two teens were located. Chad Ramsey, 29, of Turlock, was also located at the residence. He was determined to have a misdemeanor bench warrant out of Merced for a traffic offense.
Ultimately, Ramsey and one of the two teens were arrested and released on citations, Ramsey on his warrant and the teen on unknown charges.
