The report of a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of a male suspected of robbing a gas station.
Richard McClure, 18, was arrested for robbery and possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
Turlock police responded to the AMPM on the 4700 block of N. Golden State Boulevard, at the Taylor Road intersection, at approximately 9:14 p.m. on the report of a robbery that had just occurred.
The Turlock Police Department reports that a male suspect, later identified as McClure, entered the business, indicated he was armed, and ordered the clerk to open the cash register.
The suspect grabbed the money in the register and fled in a dark-colored vehicle, according to the Turlock Police Department.
While on scene at the business, Turlock Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1500 block N. Palm Street. Officers responded to Palm Street to find a subject and vehicle matching the description of those involved in the robbery.
When McClure saw the officers, he fled from the vehicle and into an apartment, reports the Turlock Police Department. Officers were ultimately able to contact McClure, who was positively identified as the robbery suspect. He was then arrested and booked.
There were no injuries in the robbery.
