The Turlock Police Department has received two reports of a suspicious man that has approached two residences in Turlock, requesting parents provide fingerprints, hair samples, and/or DNA from their daughters.
The first incident was reported that on Wednesday, at approximately 5pm, a white adult male in his 40’s, approximately 5’10”, with large 70’s style glasses approached the reporting party’s home asking for their daughter.
The male said he was with Amber Alert and needed their daughter’s hair and DNA. The homeowner told the male they did not sign up for anything like this and was told to leave. The male left in a grey four-door Nissan sedan.
The second incident that was reported to have occurred on Saturday, the same individual approached another Turlock residence. This time he had identifying information about the home owner’s 18-year old daughter, claiming the daughter had signed up for a child fingerprint kit.
The homeowner requested the male leave their property after suspecting fraud.
The Turlock Police Department is sharing this information with residents to be cautious of any unknown people that show up to your residences. Do not let them inside, ask for their identification/business card, and immediately call the police at (209) 668-1200.
