The Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force nabbed Joshua Reynolds, 31, for possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant. The arrest occurred on West Main Street in Turlock.
The Task Force, known as StanCATT, is a proactive auto theft investigative unit consisting of undercover detectives from the California Highway Patrol, Modesto, Ceres and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.
StanCATT was formed in the summer of 1996 after local law enforcement agencies met to address the rise of auto theft in Stanislaus County. The task force investigates auto thefts throughout Stanislaus County.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Modesto metropolitan was ranked number one in the nation for auto thefts in 2012.
