Turlock police arrested an 18-year-old male on Saturday evening after he allegedly used a pellet gun to steal a bicycle.
Justin Chainey, 18, was arrested for robbery.
The robbery took place on the 1500 block of Main Street at approximately 4:27 p.m. Chainey allegedly robbed the victim of their bicycle at gunpoint.
Following the robbery, Chainey fled on the bicycle, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb.
Based on the description given of the suspect, officers believed it to be Chainey, said Webb.
Officers responded to the 800 block of North Tully Road — a place where he is known to frequent, according to Webb.
Chainey was spotted in a backyard on the 800 block of North Tully Road and he ran, but officers had set up a perimeter and he was apprehended.
Officers located the bike, sweater he was wearing during the robbery, and the gun — which turned out to be a pellet gun.
